We're Done!

As the title states, our 1st doll house makeover is done and in the books.  Babette and I are both real proud of the way this Spooky Halloween model turned out, and as she put it, "Not bad for our 1st attempt."  We started the project August 2nd and finished it late yesterday, October 5th.  I'm sure others might have been able to complete a project like this faster, but since we could only devote the evenings and weekends; not to mention, we were basically flying by the seat of our pants, we're satisfied with the results.  Plus, our only real deadline was Halloween itself, and that target date was met with time to spare!  YEAH!!!  Now for the fun part ... waiting to see the expressions on our grandkids faces.  That will be priceless, and I'm definitely going to try and capture their faces with a picture at the moment they see it light up.

So it was on to setting up the area where this new decoration will be displayed in our home.  That meant the support box built earlier had to first be positioned in the middle of the bay window area.

Next, the show piece itself, which is 22-1/2" x 44-1/2" was centered on top of the box.  As you can see, it isn't a small piece and definitely takes up a chunk of space.

Now, if you're thinking the way I think regarding what came next, then you are probably dead nuts on target.  Babette and I just sat and watched this house go through its routine; yep, we triggered the motion sensor several times to take in all the sights and sounds.  Below are several more pics, plus a short video at the bottom.  I think Babette's vision of a Spooky Halloween House turned out great.  We are both definitely happy with the results, and pleased with how it compliments all the other Halloween decorations in this room and the rest of our home.

Last, but not least, is this short video.  Not sure why, but the black light in the video seems to be brighter than in reality; oh well, wonderful world of electronics! 😁   Bottom line is we are very pleased with how this project turned out, and think it looks great in our living room!  I hope all of you who watched or followed me on this blog like Babette's vision, and how she made it come to life.  She done good!

Had to add these last 2 pics of our grandkids (Gannon & Madi) when they first saw the completed house.  They both loved the look, but Gannon was super impressed with all the lights and sounds.  He even asked Noni (Babette) if it would be coming to his room when Halloween was over.  😄
