Now that the Spooky Halloween House is complete, it will soon be time to tackle this farmhouse looking little gem and turn it into our very own version of a Christmas House. Not yet sure exactly what Babette has planned, but knowing her it's probably gonna be detailed. I'm also quite confident this baby will have plenty of lights, some support posts, and railing for the front porch area. There will also be assorted other decorations scattered around and on the house itself; not to mention in the yard to help bring it all to life.
For years Babette ran her own craft show and created designs of various goodies that we then made and sold for others to enjoy with their own holiday decorations. Some of her biggest sellers were different size Santa Clauses that were suitable for both inside and outside setups. For those of you who are familiar with, or purchased her designs in the past, you know exactly how detailed, unique, and 1 of a kind items she loved to make. She used to tell me, I do not like production; I prefer to make 1 of a kind creations. For this project, Babette said she was going to make a miniature version (to scale) of at least 1 of those type Santa Clauses for this house. Good idea girl; add that personal touch!
Like the Halloween model, this Christmas House will be attached to a base so it too can be displayed in our living room window. This way the whole family, and friends, will be able to enjoy the view. We already have a scaled model of an old authentic looking metal truck which will be a neat addition to the scenery. I plan to build a detached garage that will be positioned next to this house. It should add to the home's overall charm. Well, at least that's my plan! 😉
Since we just finished the Halloween House, we're going to take a short break. I mean, we do need to enjoy Halloween itself first ... right? Then we'll start on this new project; and, I know once I get the go-ahead, it will be full steam ahead. I must admit though, since we completed the Halloween House, I'm kind of getting the itch to see what we can do to this house; it is a fun project; plus, it's a good way to burn up some of that excess energy. Babette and I work well together and make a pretty good team; she's management and I'm the grunt! 😁😆😁More will be posted once we get started on this new project.
